Seeing as Christmas is the one time of year that you absolutely, 100% have to be honest (or so we’re told…), Burger King has revealed a secret it’s been hiding all through 2019.
The fast food restaurant just admitted that it’s been trolling its arch-nemesis McDonald’s secretly with every single one of its adverts this year.
Allow us to explain…
Burger King posted a video on Instagram this morning that started by saying: "You see, throughout 2019, we were keeping a bit of a secret.
"Actually, a Whopper of a secret.
"Everybody knows our burger is more generous than that other burger.”
The video continues by showing behind-the-scenes footage from Burger King shoots throughout 2019. And hiding behind each of its signature Whopper burgers was a McDonald’s Big Mac.
"So we thought we'd prove it, by hiding a 'Big' Mac behind every Whopper we photographed.
"That's right. There was a 'Big' Mac in every single Whopper advert in the UK in 2019."

Burger King made sure to rub it in Ronald McDonald’s face even more by showing a montage of all the adverts that had been made with a secret Big Mac hiding in the shadows of the Whopper.
The literal shade of it all.
The video finishes by saying, "So there you are. Confession made. Our secret's out.
"Thank you Maccy D's for having our back in 2019."
Everyone in the UK is now currently refreshing the McDonald’s social media pages over and over and over again as we wait patiently for a sassy response.
