The popular Austin hamburger chain P. Terry’s Burger Stand is expanding to San Antonio, starting with the Medical Center in the fall, the company announced Tuesday.
The San Antonio location — which the company called “the first of several” — is set for 8539 Fredericksburg Road. It will carry the same stylish flying-wedge architecture and classic diner-style interiors of the company’s 15 locations in Austin and San Marcos.
P. Terry’s, started by Patrick and Kathy Terry in 2005, made inroads in Austin’s competitive burger market by using fresh beef, freshly ground chicken, handcut french fries and by offering one of the city’s best vegetarian burgers. The chain also offers breakfast, handspun milkshakes and fresh cookies and banana bread.

Along with San Antonio, the company’s expansion plans this year include New Braunfels, Georgetown and Pflugerville. The company also operates a fast-food taco stand called Taco Ranch in Austin.
